Our Mission: The Office of Women's Programs & Studies provides services and programs with women or gender as a focus for the CSU campus. Programs concentrate on examining the intersections of oppression and creating conditions that allow for all people to share safely and equally in the opportunities and resources provided by CSU. These support services are designed to reflect and enhance the unique goals, expectations, and aspirations of the students. Programs and services also assist students in addressing contemporary issues confronting them.

Work at WPS!

WPS is currently accepting applications for the academic year 2010-11. Applications are available here and are due on Friday, January 15 for Fall Semester 2010 employment. We are looking to hire 5-6 undergraduate students. We do not have funding to hire graduate students at this time.

Student Worker Job Description:
Undergraduate student workers in the Office of Women’s Programs and Studies (OWPS) will work approximately 10 hours per week during the academic year. Each employee will work with a staff member in the OWPS to develop a work plan that compliments and strengthens the skills of each individual student employee, and works toward meeting the objectives of the OWPS.

Expectations of student employees include:

  • Attending Fall Training beginning on August 16, 2010.
  • Assisting in general office activities, including answering phones, checking out videos/books from the resource library, assisting others in research, and supporting core office staff.
  • Coordinating/assisting with one of the major areas of programming in OWPS (i.e. Women’s Conference, Women at Noon, The Men’s Project, Victim Assistance Team, Student Alliance for Gender Education, Greeks Against Sexual Assault, etc.).
  • Participating in regular staff meetings.
  • Representing OWPS at campus and community events.
  • Other duties as relevant to OWPS.
