Favorite book: The Alchemist
Best thing about working here: Every day is a learning experience. I love being challenged with new things and having my eyes opened to things I haven't thought of before. As a male in the office, I feel so blessed with the opportunity listen and learn from the brilliant people around me.
Favorite quote: If you have come to help me you can go home, but if you have come because your liberation is bound to mine, then let us work together.
How you became a feminist: I read Pedagogy of the Oppressed as a student at the exact same time I began looking at my own gender. The book helps oppressors identify their role in liberating the oppressed. I also saw a lot of pain in myself and other men because of the version of masculinity we have been sold. I began to see myself in a struggle that was similar and tied into the struggle women face. My own liberation cannot exist without reinventing the same gender norms that are oppressive to women. I recognize my role as an ally and acknowledge that I am working for myself and other men at the same time.
