When did you realize you were a feminist: My parents raised me as a feminist, but I remember the moment I connected feminism and interpersonal violence. I was sitting in a graduate class on domestic violence and suddenly realized that gender role socialization and systemic oppression is related to how we treat each other in relationships and life. I had never before thought about the connection between gender roles and interpersonal violence. It forever changed the way I view media, parenting and relationships.
